July 25 2010- NY Red Bulls decide to host a tournament with 3 other top European clubs from July 22 to 25 2010. They invite Portuguese Sporting CP,  and two Premiership clubs, Man City and Tottenham Hotspurs. Red Bulls is halfway through the MLS season so they had an advantage in terms of match-fitness, not to mention the home-turf. Instead, Sporting CP came to the US and won the tournament!  

Sporting results- Manchester City (2-0) draw Tottenham (2-2).
Sporting even played with different starting lineups in each half of the 2 games!

As a Sporting CP fan in the USA, this is great news!!!!!!
